Nothing good comes from a south Texas summer

It's too hot.

There is ALWAYS a drought.

Which leads to water restrictions.

Kids are out of school, which translates to annoying, loud neighborhood kids being around all. day.  long.  I am WAITING for those little cretins to ring my doorbell during nap time to play with the kids.  Bring it.

It's only bearable outside between the hours of 8 pm to 8 am.  Then the temperatures soar to the 100s.

I finally gathered the courage to wear shorts this summer.  Main, that's been a game changer.  But I still can't stand to be outside after 11 am.

This cranky post has been brought to you by the tired mama of a defiant toddler who napped for a total of 20 minutes following a sweaty morning at the park.
